On the obverse, digit 1 of the date is under the right center of curl 1 equidistant between the curl and dentils, star 1 is joined to curl 1 and curl 2, and the base of digit 4 almost touches the dentil; on the reverse, a leaf pair is below the second S in STATES, a leaf point ends beneath the center of the U in UNITED, and there are 6 berries on the left branch and 6 on the right. Silver-gray surfaces on this XF example display sharply defined design elements, including good detail in Liberty's hair, the eagle's tail, and on most of the wing feathers. The dentilation is virtually complete and relatively strong. Generally clean surfaces reveal a few minute obverse contact marks.
