1794 H10C VF30 PCGS. V-1, LM-1, R.6. The 179 is distant from the 4. Star 1 points to the gap between the first two hair curls. This is the first and rarest die pairing for the year of the new half dime denomination, first produced in 1794. The surfaces of this attractive piece are steel-gray with silver highpoints, and the coin is overall quite appealing. There are a few light, undistracting adjustment marks in the obverse center, but the only mentionable poststrike abrasion is a nick below the eagle's left (facing) leg. A nice example of this most elusive die marriage.

Coin Engraver: Robert Scot

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
