<B>1794 50C VF35 PCGS.</B></I> O-101a, R.3. This is an attractive and fully natural silver piece, the first half dollar issue of the young Philadelphia Mint. Both sides have deep steel and gray-brown color with lighter gray on the devices. The surfaces are exceptional for the grade with few blemishes of any type. A die crack on the reverse between the D and first S is seen on nearly every known example from this reverse die, including those from all four different obverse dies, although at least one example of the O-106 die marriage (and offered in this sale) is from a perfect reverse die.
