1794 1/2 C VF30 PCGS. B-6b, C-4, R.3. We are certain that this attribution is correct in that this coin was struck from the marriage of Breen's Obverse 4 and Reverse E. On the other hand, we cannot see the edge, so we do not know whether or not the lettering is large or small. As the Large Edge Letters variety (B-6a) is an R.8 with just three examples known to Breen, it is likely that this coin is an example of the Small Edge Letters, B-6b variety. The attractive, medium brown surfaces are evenly worn over the central design elements. We do, however, note that the denticles are sharper at the left borders than they are at the right. A foreign object seems to have been encapsulated with the coin on the reverse below the final A in AMERICA, and a few planchet voids (as struck) are seen in the obverse field immediately before Liberty's profile. There is also a mentionable reverse scrape in the field after the N in UNITED. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
