In practice, this variety is usually identified by the heavy die bulge at the lower left part of the obverse, as well as prominent clash marks that can be seen along Liberty's profile. This example is a late die state that also has clash marks and die cracks on the reverse. In fact, it appears to meet the requirements of the latest or terminal die state recorded by Ron Manley. Smooth medium brown surfaces include hints of olive and tan, an attractive example of this plentiful variety.
