Fine 12 EAC.</B></I> Date closely spaced, 7 low; T in CENT leans left. <B>The plate coin in the first edition of Cohen,</B></I> and identified as such in that reference. The second S in STATES is weak, as usual for later die states. Medium brown surfaces, lighter on the devices, with minor granularity across both surfaces. A small amount of residue is visible along the reverse border above NI, and this is apparently the damage discussed by NCS. Beginning with this variety, standard issue was Small Edge Letters for every die variety through the end of the year. All varieties from C-2 through C-6 are also known with Large Edge Letters, and only C-2b can be found occasionally, although not offered herein.
