1793 S-9 R2 Wreath Cent NGC graded MS62 Brown.
1793 S-9 R2 Wreath Cent NGC graded MS62 Brown. Choice glossy chocolate brown with frosty lighter steel brown toning covering the protected areas. The obverse fields are hard and slightly reflective while the fields on the reverse are covered with satiny mint luster. This cent offers outstanding eye appeal for the grade. The only marks are a faint microscopic hairline scratch across the bottom of the neck and a small planchet void (as struck) well left of the L in LIBERTY. Sharply struck E-MDS, Breen state II, with a fine die crack at CA to the stem and ribbon. The obverse is slightly misaligned to K-10 while the reverse is properly centered on the planchet. Called AU55 choice and tied for CC#8 honors in the Noyes census, his photo #20095. Our grade is AU58 choice, very close to mint state. And this beautiful Wreath Cent comes with a provenance that includes several prominent numismatists. Pop 1; The finest graded at NGC.
Estimated Value $40,000-UP.
