1793 1C Wreath Cent--Vine and Bars--AU50 PCGS. S-8, B-13, R.3. An impressive representative of this famous and conditionally challenging single-year Early American type. The medium brown surfaces are generally smooth, and significant luster emerges from Liberty's hair, the wreath, and the legends. The strike is even and precise, with only slight highpoint wear present on the hair. The obverse border has a hint of granularity at 3:30, and light marks are present on Liberty's neck and the E in CENT, but these minor imperfections are accounted for in the designated third party grade. The Wreath cent can always be obtained for a price in corroded, worn-out condition, but examples with remaining luster and undisturbed fields are few and far between.
