1793<1/2 C> C-3, B-3, R.3. Usual Die State--Corroded--NCS. XF Details. Fine 12 EAC. Forelock below LI; Crowded fraction. This is the plate coin in the first edition of Cohen, although the plate suggests a much lighter appearing and less corroded example. Surface quality does not permit identification of the Breen die state. In addition to the heavy corrosion, there is evidence that the obverse rim has been lightly filed. Steel-brown surfaces with intermingled olive and maroon color, the latter indicating some old, hard corrosion. Additional moderate to heavy corrosion is visible on both sides. What appears as a die crack on the reverse from below D to above the first S is actually a result of the corroded surfaces.
Ex: Roger S. Cohen, Jr. (11/1981). Envelope Included.
