<B>1792 "Mad" Anthony Wayne's Laundry Bill Document</B></I> Here is a bill for laundry services performed by Catherine Dill to <I>"Mr. Anthony Waine,"</B></I> [sic] from Philadelphia; dated January 12, 1792. A one page handwritten document, 6.5" x 6.25", with a docketing note on the reverse. The bill describes washing clothes on eight days in December 1791 and three days in January 1792 and well as <I>"mending sundry pieces."</B></I> Later that year, Wayne would be named major-general by President George Washington and placed in charge of U.S. forces against the Indians in Ohio and Indiana. General Wayne's victory at the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794 opened up the northwest to white settlement. Provenance: the Ridgway - Wayne estate. Lot:253
