1791 1C Washington Large Eagle Cent MS65 Brown PCGS. Baker-15. An intricately struck and satiny Gem with predominant golden-brown and ice-blue toning, although glimmers of the initial mint red reside within protected areas. Teenaged John Gregory Hancock of the Westwood Mint struck the Large Eagle and Small Eagle pieces hoping to secure a Federal coinage contract. The Small Eagle design was copied by Peter Getz for his 1792 patterns struck at John Harper's coach house near the first Philadelphia Mint. The Getz patterns were rejected as monarchial by President Washington. Population: 4 in 65 Brown, 1 finer (4/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
