<B>1790 Manly Medal VF20 Scratched, Bent, Uncertified.</B></I> Baker-61A. 48mm. Plain edge. A white metal example of the rare BORN VIRGINIA Manly medal. These dies are usually seen in bronze format (Baker-61C), but are rare and desirable regardless of alloy. Both sides show several noticeable scratches, and the flan is slightly wavy, perhaps due to a few peripheral rim dings. Baker-61A is unpriced above XF in the Rulau-Fuld standard reference, which states, "8 or 10 known." The Garrett piece was holed, and no Manly medals appeared in the recent Norweb auction.<BR><I>From The Dale A.
