George Washington & John Adams Their Only Jugate Image Only Three Copies Known To Exist
1790-Dated, “Bickerstaff’s Boston Almanack or Federal Calender, for 1790, Second after Leap-Year, and Fourteenth of Independency.,” Featuring the First and Only Jugate Image of George Washington & John Adams, Fine to Very Fine.
This is an original printing of Bickerstaff's Boston Almanack, Or, Federal Calendar, for 1790, Second After Leap-Year; and Fourteenth of Independence, measuring 7” x 4.25” with 22 pages, being well worn and used. The all important Cover Woodcut Illustration shows the George Washington as the First President and John Adams to his right, as Vice President. The Folk Art style portraits measure 1.5” tall shown hanging like a painted miniature portrait under a fancy decorated arch with an American Heraldic Eagle atop. Printed below reads, "Printed by E. Russell, next Liberty-Pole: Where may be had cheap to Traveling-traders, etc., the Bloody Register No. 4."

This is the Only Printed and/or manufactured item, which presents such a Jugate Image of Washington and Adams, to our best knowledge, with only two other copies known! This copy has real, actual wear with some loss to the corners tips, some loss to the left side of the cover along the spine, none of which affects or even comes close to the historic central printed imagery. Of added note, on page two is found a poem praising General Washington, "Composed in 1782, but never before published." As made, all of its pages are stitched together with original thread. A very important, exceedingly rare piece of period, Political Americana.
