<B>1788 1/2 C Massachusetts Half Cent MS64 Brown PCGS. CAC.</B></I> Ex: Garrett. Ryder 1-B, R.2. Cataloged in the first Bowers and Ruddy Garrett auction as "a superb, magnificent, breathtaking coin. The obverse is a glossy lustrous brown with iridescent overtones. The reverse is glossy brown with traces of original mint red color. Boldly struck. A specialist's dream." High praise indeed, and to this we can only add that there is a faint spot near the C in MASSACHUSETTS that confirms its illustrious pedigree. Listed on page 57 of the 2008 <I>Guide Book</B></I>.
