Chocolate and olive brown. The obverse is glossy while the reverse is closer to matte thanks to uniform extremely fine granularity. No verdigris or contact marks and only a few of the usual tiny planchet voids commonly found on these early coppers, mostly below the O in FUGIO. The date and legends are complete and strong. The upper 8-pointed star on the reverse label is bold but the lower one is faint and only partially visible. Weight 149.7 grains.
