<B>1785<COPPER> Connecticut Copper, Bust Left VF Details, Planchet Flaw, NCS.</B></I> M. 8-D, High R.5. The reverse is flawed above the shield and into the body, the obverse has a slender flaw from 2 o'clock to the bust tip. The ebony brown surfaces are somewhat porous. The left side legends are partly bold and partly illegible, the remainder of the legends are clear. A scarce type, most 1785 varieties (including all common ones) are Bust Right. This example is finer than Perkins or either of the Taylor coins, and approximately equal to the example in the Ford Collection. It is almost certainly Condition Census, and probably near the top of that list.
