<B>1785 British Act - Restitution for Loyalists in America.</B></I> 12 pages, disbound, London England, 1785. Printed by "Charles Eyre and William Strahan, Printers to the King's most Excellent Majesty. 1785." Reads in part: "An Act for appointing Commissioners further to enquire into the Losses and Services of all such Persons who have suffered in their Rights, Properties, and Professions, during the late unhappy Dissentions in America, in Consequence of their loyalty to His Majesty, and Attachment to the British Government." A most important British Act, directly reviewing the misfortune placed upon the Loyalist Tories after the conclusion of the American Revolution. The act is in very fine condition, but has some small tears present from where it was disbound. Overall, an excellent display.
