<B>1783 6PENCE Chalmers Sixpence, Large Date--Damaged--NCS. Fine Details.</B></I> Breen-1014, "Extremely Rare." Our online auction records reach back to 1993, and although we have offered some two dozen Short or Long Worm Chalmers shillings, this is the first Chalmers sixpence to appear in a Heritage auction. This deep gray piece has several pinscratches on the central obverse, presumably made on an idle day more than two centuries ago, and a dig is present after the final S in ANNAPOLIS. Slightly wavy, but generally sharp, aside from peripheral fading on MERS and the 83 in the date.
