1783 1C Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, Silver Restrike, Engrailed Edge PR65 PCGS. Baker-3. The well-made W.S. Lincoln "No Button, Large 3" restrike in silver, produced during the middle part of the 19th century. This restrike variety is often confused with the Taylor proof restrikes, which feature a Small 3. This pleasing Gem is boldly struck and carefully preserved. The rich sea-green and rose patina is both original and attractive. Much scarcer than the copper restrikes from the same dies. Listed on page 76 of the 2008 Guide Book. Population: 4 in 65, 1 finer (1/08).
Ex: Wesley Van Olden Collection of Colonial Coinage (Heritage, 9/03), lot 5166; Pittsburgh Signature (Heritage, 8/04), lot 5038.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
