Original Revolutionary War Receipt, completed in Manuscript, on fine-laid paper, 7.9” x 8.” Signed by “John Thompson WM” of Bucks County, who certifies that “Casper Fabian of the Township of Darham has furnished this State, for the Use of the United States, with a brown Horse 8 years old 14 hands high ... at the Sum of twenty seven Pounds Specie Exchange 40 for one and for which the State is now justly indebted to him in that Sum, with Interest....” Indent left margin as made. Nicely printed on period laid paper with its full wide original margins present and strong brown ink writing in the manuscript portions. Docket and additional transaction notations and documentation on the otherwise blank reverse. An excellent, very choice quality example that is perfect for display.
