Fr. NJ-191. State of New Jersey. June 9, 1780. Twenty Dollars. “Guaranteed” by the United States issue. Signed by “P. Dickinson” and “D. Brearley.” Choice Crisp Uncirculated. This bright and vibrant red and black printed note is fully signed both face and back and has rich brown signatures, including “P. Dickinson” and “D. Brearley.” The face side is particularly well centered within four fill margins. The reverse “Guarantee” line is boldly signed by David Brearley, for the United States. This issue recalled 40 “Old Dollars” to be replaced with on “New Dollar” both guaranteed by the US Congress, plus it carried a 5% annual interest payment. Quite rare in this superior, Choice Uncirculated grade.
