December 4, 1780-Dated Revolutionary War, Massachusetts, House of Representatives Broadsheet, Signed in Type “John Hancock,” Three Printed Pages on two sheets measuring 9” x 14”, Choice Very Fine.
This historic original Revolutionary War Printed Broadsheet is issued at Boston, Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is headed: “In the House of Representatives, Dec. 4th, 1780” and Signed at its conclusion in Typeset by John Hancock (as first Governor of the State of Massachusetts). The Broadsheet retains its fully wide original margins and is boldly printed with deep black text on very clean, lightly folded period laid paper. This being an official Resolution and schedule requiring inhabitants to: “furnish a Number of Cattle or Money sufficient to purchase the same, that the Quantity of Beef, including Hides and Tallow, may amount to Four Million Six Hundred and Twenty six Thousand One Hundred and Seventy-eight Pounds” for the use of the Continental Army.

There is a schedule of the specific weights of items to be provided by each Town printed on pages two and three. This Resolution also details how the payments are to be made, and the penalties for not furnishing the required goods in a timely fashion.
