<B>1778-1779 TOKEN Rhode Island Ship Token, No Wreath, Brass MS62 PCGS.</B></I> Betts-562, Breen-1139. An intermediate variety of this interesting Revolutionary War medal. The blundered VLUGTENDE legend has been scraped off the lower reverse, as issued, but no wreath has yet been added to the die to replace it. Well struck with predominant brassy yellow toning aside from medium brown on the open obverse field. The reverse has an occasional hint of deep gray granularity. Listed on page 48 of the 2008 <I>Guide Book</B></I>.
