1776 $1 Continental Dollar, CURRENCY, Pewter--Corroded--NCS. AU Details. Crosby Pl. VIII, 16, Newman 2-C, Breen-1092, R.3. Evenly toned deep gunmetal-gray. A bold example of this famous early American type, which has designs attributed to Benjamin Franklin, later copied for the 1787 Fugio cent. This piece has a few verdigris spots on the obverse, mostly on the ON in CONTINENTAL and the second R in CURRENCY. The reverse has a small area of metal loss at 1 o'clock, and the edge is filed between 2:30 and 3:30. A desirable souvenir of the American struggle for independence. The dies are rotated approximately 90 degrees. Listed on page 81 of the 2007 Guide Book.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
