<B>1766 FARTH Pitt Farthing VF20 PCGS.</B></I> Breen-248. Usually found in halfpenny format, William Pitt farthing-sized examples are extremely rare. PCGS has certified only five pieces in all grades. This example is dark brown in color with somewhat rough fields and a small rim defect at 9 o'clock. It was described as "probably unique" in the Norweb I catalog, "struck in copper, or an alloy resembling copper" instead of the expected brass or yellow-bronze alloy.
