1766<1/2P> Pitt Halfpenny MS61 Brown NGC. Breen-251. Sir William Pitt became a hero to merchants on both sides of the Atlantic in 1766, when his opposition to the hated Stamp Act resulted in its remission. This lovely golden-brown representative is well centered and nicely struck. Evaluation beneath a strong lens locates a couple of minor marks, but the eye appeal is superior for the third party grade. Listed on page 48 of the 2007 Guide Book.
