1760 1/2P Hibernia-Voce Populi Halfpenny MS64 Brown PCGS. Breen-221. Breen calls this variety the "Imperial Head," and he suggests that the portrait may be that of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (a. k. a. Bonnie Prince Charlie). This is the most sharply struck Voce Populi copper of any variety that this cataloger has seen. The impression is well centered on the flan, and there is not a single ill-defined feature. Both sides are free of mentionable post-production distractions, and the color is a rich, original, medium brown shade. A lamination (as struck) is noted in the lower obverse field, and there is some porosity (also as produced) on the reverse over and behind Liberty's torso. Listed on page 29 of the current Guide Book. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
