Being a Day of Public Thanksgiving…for the Success of the British Arms this Year, Especially in the Reduction of Quebec, the Capital of Canada</B></I> by Andrew Eliot, M.A., Pastor of the New-North Church in Boston. (Boston: Daniel and John Kneeland, 1759), 43 pages, in modern binding, 5.5" x 8.25". In 1758, the British mounted an attack on New France, (the area colonized by France in North America) by sea and took the French fort at Louisbourg. On September 13, 1759, General James Wolfe defeated General Montcalm on the Plains of Abraham outside Quebec City. This sermon commemorates this event. In fine condition; pages lightly toned overall.
