1759 Religious Pamphlet Printed by Benjamin Franklin
1759 French & Indian War Era, Imprint Printed by Benjamin Franklin titled: “THE DOCTRINE OF BAPTISMS, Reduced from its Ancient and Modern CORRUPTIONS; And restored to its PRIMITIVE SOUNDNESS AND INTEGRITY...”, written by William Dell, Philadelphia, PA, Very Fine.
This scarce Benjamin Franklin Imprint measures 7.25" x 4.75", 43 pages, 5th edition of the 1647 original commissioned by The Society of Friends of Philadelphia. This 5th Edition Imprint was printed in Philadelphia in 1759 by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. It is hardboard bound with some wear showing to spine and covers. The interior pages show some minor age tone and are still very crisp and clean, in overall excellent condition. Benjamin Franklin printed tracts are getting increasingly scarce and this is an above average, quite exceptional example. Miller 702; Campbell 634; Evans 8338.
