CDV of Sergeant Lewis L. Barge of the 174th Ohio Infantry, Company A. Bust portrait shows the young officer in uniform. Accompanied by official discharge document signed by Second Lieutenant William F. Wallace, commander of the regiment at the time of Barge's discharge. Barge mustered in as a Corporal on 18 August 1864 and mustered out as a Sergeant on 28 June 1865. The 174th Ohio Infantry saw action at Decatur, Murfreesboro and Second Kinston. CDV measures 2.5'' x 3.75''. Some wear, otherwise excellent condition.
