1749 Massachusetts Bay “Acts and Laws Passed...” with “An Act for Drawing the Bills of Credit...and for ascertaining the Rate of Coined Silver in this Province for the future.”
May 31, 1749-Dated, Important Colonial Numismatic Content, Province of Massachusetts Bay, “Acts and Laws Passed by the Great and General court or Assembly of His Majesty's Province of the Massachusetts-Bay in New-England,” Choice Very Fine.
Original printing of “Acts and Laws,” 4 pages, measures 11.75” x 7.75” disbound, Boston. “Printed and Sold by S. Kneeland and C. Green, by Order of His Excellency the GOVERNOUR, Council and House of Representatives.” Reads: “Begun and held at Boston upon Wednesday the thirty-first Day of May 1749. Boston: S. Kneeland and T. Green, 1749.” The top of the first page features the engraved Arms of King George II. Three important Colonial Era Coinage and Colonial Currency related Acts are noted here:

1. “An Act for Drawing the Bills of Credit... which have at any Time been issued by this Government and are Still outstanding, and for ascertaining the Rate of coined Silver in this Province for the future.”

2. “ascertaining the Rates at which coined Silver and Gold and English Half-Pence and Farthings may pass within this Government.”

3. “...Acts of this Province made for the Distribution and Settlement of the Estates of Intestates.”
