This is a very rare original printed Act of His Majesty's Province of the Massachusetts-Bay in New England" was passed during the period of the Colonial Wars between England and France. It has 2 pages, back to back, measuring 7.5” x 11.5” being printed in dark bold black upon handmade period laid paper with some scattered tone spots. disbound, being in overall very good condition. This law provides for the further fortification of Boston Harbor for the safety of the Province. It takes military possession of private property on the Island for the King to erect "two Batteries with a suitable Number of Cannon," easterly of the fortress of Castle William. These early laws were printed in individual sections as they were passed by the legislature, and were numbered in sequential order to be bound with other laws previously passed.
