Original Partially-Printed Document, measuring 7.75” x 6.25”, 1 page, at Newport, Rhode Island, listing the men of the Colony of Rhode Island who are its Trustees. They are owed a certain amount that was drawn on the Public Debt., and has to be repaid in “Bills of Public Credit” being Colonial Currency of "Old Tenor" notes. This debt was paid at Newport, April 3, 1763. The original debt began in the year 1742. The official noting the debt being paid in Old Tenor. Signed by Edward Thurston on the reverse side endorsement of payment. Thurston served in the French and Indian War under the command of Colonel Babcock of Newport. A scarce early American financial document from the Colonial days of Rhode Island.
