For your consideration is this set of four sterling spoons made by Joseph Sanders in London, England circa 1737. The 286 year old spoons feature a polished sterling construction with the initial "D" on the top of the handle. The backs of the necks show stampings. The stampings show the maker's mark, "JS" in script lettering, a lion passant indicating the quality of the silver, the London town mark and a letter "b" indicating the year it was made (1737). The spoons show good condition despite their antique age. No signs of obvious damage are present. The spoons have tape residue on the bottom of the bowls but can easily be cleaned and polished. The spoons measure 7" L x 1 3/8" W. The collective weight of the spoons is 130.2 grams.*
