single sheet manuscript on vellum with wax seal
30 by 51cm., 12 by 20in.

Papal bull of Pope Clement XII (Lorenzo Corsini) in Latin. Pope from 1730. With manuscript signature of the Pope
Born into a well known Florentine family, Pope Clement worked as a lawyer before joining the church, rising to become a Cardinal in 1706. After becoming Pope in 1730 he used his experience as Papal Treasurer to restore the Papal finances. He also began extensive building programs for which he is largely remembered today. Contained in an attractive archival frame.
