<B>1723 FARTH Hibernia Pattern Farthing, Silver MS63 PCGS.</B></I> Close DEI GRATIA. Breen-173, "Very rare." A splendid and desirable silver Hibernia farthing. 1723 farthings in copper are plentiful, but the silver pieces are sufficiently rare that most advanced cabinets, such as the Garrett collection, lacked an example. This lovely piece possesses flashy fields and meticulously struck devices. Delicately and attractively toned in peripheral golden-brown and sea-green shades. Thorough evaluation finally locates a few faint hairlines on the reverse field, but these do not begin to challenge the grade.
