<B>(1694) TOKEN London Elephant Token, Thin Planchet XF45 NGC.</B></I> Breen-187, Hodder 2-B. Much scarcer than the usually encountered Thick Planchet variety, Breen-186. As of (11/06), NGC has certified two Thin Planchet pieces, compared to 20 Thick Planchet examples. This charming medium brown token shows all major design details, and is free from any distractions. Struck from late dies, with slender breaks from the rim to the first N in UNITED. The London Elephant tokens are part of Colonial collections because the obverse dies were later used to strike very rare CAROLINA and NEW ENGLAND varieties.
