<B>(1694) TOKEN London Elephant Token, Thin Planchet XF45 NGC.</B></I> Breen-187, Hodder 2-B. Much scarcer than the usually encountered Thick Planchet variety, Breen-186. As of (12/07), NGC has certified two Thin Planchet pieces, compared to 23 Thick Planchet examples. A similar ratio is found when reviewing the PCGS <I>Population Report</B></I>. This charming medium brown token is on a choice planchet, shows all major design details, and is free from any distractions. Struck from a later state of dies, as evinced by the slender breaks from the rim to the first N in LONDON. The London Elephant tokens are part of Colonial collections because the obverse dies were later used to strike the very rare CAROLINA and NEW ENGLAND issues.
