HARDWARE WARS (1978) - William Plumb Collection: Framed Hand-Painted Wade Lageose Special Edition VHS Cover Painting with Prelim - A framed cover painting hand-painted by Wade Lageose for the 1997 Special Edition re-release of Ernie Fosselius' Hardware Wars and its prelim. Released in 1978, Hardware Wars was considered the first parody of Star Wars: A New Hope, and reportedly George Lucas' favorite: it was a spoof of the Special Edition re-release of A New Hope released that same year.

This lot comes from the personal collection of William Plumb. It consists of a painting of Fluke Starbucker, Augie "Ben" Doggie," Princess Anne-Droid, 4-Q-2, Artie Deco, and Ham Salad rendered, signed, and dated "Wade 97" in mixed media; a prelim for the painting rendered in mixed media on paper; a color-printed Hardware Wars Special Edition cover; and a color-printed proof for the cover. It comes mounted behind glass in a black Michaels frame. The prelim exhibits crinkling and folded corners. Dimensions: (largest) 39" x 30" x 3" (99 cm x 76.25 cm x 7.75 cm)
