(1659) SHILNG Lord Baltimore Shilling XF45 PCGS. Breen-64. Hodder 1-A. An attractive and partly lustrous cream-gray and olive example of this rare Early American type. Perhaps struck from slightly misaligned dies, since the right obverse and reverse are exceptionally sharp, while portions of the left borders are soft. The Lord Baltimore shillings were struck at the Tower Mint in London, England, and exported to the Maryland colony for local circulation. These pieces are contemporary with the larger scale production of silver shillings in Boston, but far fewer Lord Baltimore pieces have survived. Listed on page 38 of the 2007 Guide Book.
From The Jones Beach Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
