STAR TREK: PHASE II (UNPRODUCED) - Unfinished Command Tunic - An unfinished Command tunic from the unproduced television series Star Trek: Phase II. A proposed sequel series to the classic 1966 series, production on Phase II got far enough along for some costumes to be created and limited wardrobe tests to be shot before the project was ultimately shelved in 1978 in favor of a feature-length theatrical film, Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

This Command-division tunic is made of a double-knit nylon-blend gold-color fabric with a black collar, basting stitches through the hem and cuffs for later alteration, and a Conceal-brand zipper with a fabric pull and plastic teeth, a feature distinct to Phase II costumes as Unique-brand zippers with metal teeth were used throughout the 1966 series. Also included is a paper tag hand-marked "George Takei," which was originally found pinned to the tunic. The basting stitches in the sleeves have come loose and the paper tag exhibits crinkling.Though their long and celebrated careers in the Star Trek world began in features, Michael and Denise Okuda established themselves as franchise legends while working on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Michael became art supervisor on TNG, while Denise came on as a scenic artist during Deep Space Nine, roles they would continue to perform through Voyager, Enterprise, and the Next Generation films. Married in 1993, the Okudas are known as the driving forces behind the development of many of the now-iconic 24th-century technologies seen throughout the series, including the famous "Okudagrams" they created for the LCARS (Library Computer Access and Retrieval System) interfaces . Propstore is proud to present a selection of key memorabilia from the personal collection of one of the franchise's most important creative teams to the public for the first time.
