STAR TREK CHRONOLOGY (1993)/STAR TREK ENCYCLOPEDIA (1994) - Michael and Denise Okuda Collection: SS Valiant Reference Model - A SS Valiant reference model based on the classic Season 1 episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before" of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek. In the episode, Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and the crew of the Enterprise attempted to uncover the fate of the SS Valiant after receiving a 200-year-old distress signal from the ship.

This model of the 23rd century Federation star cruiser comes from the collection of celebrated Star Trek franchise artists and advisors Michael and Denise Okuda. Cast from resin, it was built and hand-painted matte gray with blue and black detailing by renowned Star Trek franchise modelmaker Greg Jein exclusively for the Okudas' illustrated book Star Trek Chronology: The History of the Future. The model is applied with black print "Valiant" and "11031" decals on its nose and "ADC-11031" decals near its thrusters, as well as red striping decals along the body. Adhesive residue is visible along the sides, and the resin exhibits some grime and paint flaking from storage and age. Dimensions: 14" x 6.5" x 4.5" (35.75 cm x 16.5 cm x 11.5 cm)Though their long and celebrated careers in the Star Trek world began in features, Michael and Denise Okuda established themselves as franchise legends while working on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Michael became art supervisor on TNG, while Denise came on as a scenic artist during Deep Space Nine, roles they would continue to perform through Voyager, Enterprise, and the Next Generation films. Married in 1993, the Okudas are known as the driving forces behind the development of many of the now-iconic 24th-century technologies seen throughout the series, including the famous "Okudagrams" they created for the LCARS (Library Computer Access and Retrieval System) interfaces . Propstore is proud to present a selection of key memorabilia from the personal collection of one of the franchise's most important creative teams to the public for the first time.
