STAR TREK FRANCHISE (1966-PRESENT) - Michael and Denise Okuda Collection: Pair of Klingon Badges with Romulan Emblem - A pair of Klingon badges with a Romulan emblem from the Star Trek franchise. Beginning with the Klingon's uniform redesign in Leonard Nimoy's Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and continuing through subsequent films and series, Klingon warriors typically wore a Klingon glyph badge on their gauntlets and a small hexagonal communicator badge on their sleeves. Romulans similarly wore emblems of the Romulan Star Empire on their uniforms.

This lot, which comes from the collection of celebrated Star Trek franchise artists and advisors Michael and Denise Okuda, consists of two badges: a gold-color metal badge with Klingon language writing and a gray resin hexagonal badge with the iconic Klingon insignia; and a resin Romulan Eagle emblem painted metallic gray with a fastening strip on the back. Both Klingon badges exhibit chipping.Though their long and celebrated careers in the Star Trek world began in features, Michael and Denise Okuda established themselves as franchise legends while working on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Michael became art supervisor on TNG, while Denise came on as a scenic artist during Deep Space Nine, roles they would continue to perform through Voyager, Enterprise, and the Next Generation films. Married in 1993, the Okudas are known as the driving forces behind the development of many of the now-iconic 24th-century technologies seen throughout the series, including the famous "Okudagrams" they created for the LCARS (Library Computer Access and Retrieval System) interfaces . Propstore is proud to present a selection of key memorabilia from the personal collection of one of the franchise's most important creative teams to the public for the first time.
