STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE (1993-1999) - Michael and Denise Okuda Collection: Herman Zimmerman-Signed Framed Limited-Edition Printed Shigemi Numazawa Poster Artwork - A framed, limited-edition print of poster artwork created by Shigemi Numazawa for the promotion of Rick Berman's and Michael Piller's television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and signed by series production designer Herman Zimmerman. In addition to being used for promotional purposes, artwork by Numazawa - a photographer and illustrator of astronomical themes - hung in Captain Benjamin Sisko's (Avery Brooks) quarters throughout the series.

This lot comes from the collection of celebrated Star Trek franchise artists and advisors Michael and Denise Okuda. This full-color print of Numazawa's iconic poster artwork depicting a Starfleet runabout with registry number "NCC-72454" heading towards Deep Space Nine is hand-numbered "906/2500" and signed by Zimmerman in ink. The print comes mounted behind glass in a custom The Canvas Peddler frame signed and dated "Stardate 94.2.25" by Zimmerman with an inscription to scenic artists Michael and Denise Okuda. It exhibits tearing to its backing and around the edges of the frame. Dimensions: 23" x 28" x 1" (58.5 cm x 71.25 cm x 2.5 cm)

Michael became art supervisor on TNG, while Denise came on as a scenic artist during Deep Space Nine, roles they would continue to perform through Voyager, Enterprise, and the Next Generation films. Married in 1993, the Okudas are known as the driving forces behind the development of many of the now-iconic 24th-century technologies seen throughout the series, including the famous "Okudagrams" they created for the LCARS (Library Computer Access and Retrieval System) interfaces .
