This fine Magpies Warbling on Balsam Pear Wine statue was carved from a piece of fine-grained Apple Green Jade Gemstone. It depicts a pair of lucky magpies warbling on the wine of the Balsam Pear. In China, magpies are the symbols of happiness. When a magpie is singing in your house, it means happy event will happen in your house. The balsam pears are called Ku Gua in Chinese and the word hardship and difficulties is called Ku also. So the ripe balsam pears are symbol of the end of Gu and the warbling magpies are symbols of the coming of happiness. We could use a Chinese idom to describe it~~~ after suffering comes happiness.
