<Our item number 111411>Extremely Large 12 1/2" Phareodus (Extinct Relative of the Piranha). This extremely large 12 1/2" long x 6" wide Phareodus was an ancient ancestor of the modern Piranha as is readily apparent when you look at its mouth full of sharp pointed teeth. This spectacular museum quality 50 million year old fish is from the Green River Formation in Wyoming. The detail on this fossil is amazing including tiny fin bones, needle-like teeth, brown body scales and even the radiating pattern on the head bones. The contrast between the milk chocolate colored bones and beige limestone matrix is stunning. Impressive to look at as a whole and fascinating to examine the fine detail with a magnifying glass. The 12 1/2" longfish is perfectly centered on a 13 1/2" x 10"limestone matrix that could be easily mounted.

Add $40 for domestic shipping.
Estimated Value $800-1,200.

Our item number 111411
<IMAGES>

</IMAGES>
