FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF (1986) - Morris Frye's Ferrari License Plate - Morris Frye's Ferrari license plate from John Hughes' Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) convinced his best friend, Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck), to "borrow" his dad's prized Ferrari for a joyride around Chicago. The vehicle, among the most recognizable in cinema history, became an international symbol of the rise of Generation X and one of the film's most important recurring motifs.

Four custom plates were made by production for the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California (a modified MG sports vehicle), with this one originating directly from Hughes. Designed to resemble an actual legal state plate, this plate is painted white with "Illinois" and "Land of Lincoln" decals applied on front, Dec. 1986 registration tags (one yellow and one blue, the blue tag being a replica handwritten in marker ) applied to both corners, and "NRVOUS" printed in raised blue lettering at center. It features four screw holes and a fastening strip applied to the reverse, all for securing to a vehicle. The plate exhibits rusting on the reverse, tearing to the decals, and scratched paint from being applied to and removed from the vehicle. Dimensions: 12" x 6.25" x 0.5" (30.5 cm x 16 cm x 1.5 cm)

Estimate: $15,000 - 30,000
