<B>Eleven Confederate Issues of the <I>Daily Richmond Examiner</B></I>,</B></I> a fine singlesheet (printed both sides, 17" x 24") publication from the capital of the Confederacy. The <I>Examiner</B></I> was founded in 1859 and lasted until 1867 when it merged with the <I>Enquirer</B></I> to become the <I>Daily Enquirer and Examiner.</B></I> During the war its principal editor was Edward Albert Pollard who supported the Confederacy but was openly hostile to Jefferson Davis. The dates included in this fine collection are as follows (stories mentioned are all front page): <BR><B>December 15, 1862</B></I>- "The Battle of Fredericksburg- Another Confederate Victory" <BR><B>January 3, 1863</B></I>- "Our Victory in the West.
