JURASSIC PARK (1993) - Sick Triceratops Reference Eye in Socket Display - A sick Triceratops reference eye in a socket display from Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park. While on a tour of Isla Nublar with Dr. John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), Drs. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) came across a sick triceratops whose condition they attempted to diagnose.

Jurassic Park won a total of three Academy Awards& reg; for Best Sound Effects Editing awarded to Gary Rydstrom and Richard Hymns, Best Sound to Gary Summers, Gary Rydstrom, Shawn Murphy and Ron Judkins, and Best Visual Effects to Dennis Muren, Stan Winston, Phil Tippett, and Michael Lantieri. The film also won three Saturn Awards to Steven Spielberg for Best Director, Best Science Fiction Film, and Best Special Effects to Dennis Muren, Stan Winston, Phil Tippett, and Michael Lantieri.

This ornately detailed Triceratops eye with a sculpted yellow and black core, lifelike brown latticework veins, and a dental acrylic coating was created by key artist Rob Hinderstein at Stan Winston Studios. During production, the eye was inserted into a hand-painted and hand-textured foam and resin Triceratops socket display to demonstrate the dinosaur's potential eye movements to Spielberg. The eye is now permanently installed in the display and remains static with a resin milky discharge to convey its ill state. The display exhibits cracked foam and minor paint flaking from age. Dimensions: 7.25" x 3" x 7.5" (18.5 cm x 7.75 cm x 19 cm)

Estimate: $5,000 - 10,000
