1 Large 18th century "Topsy Turvy" painted button. Here is one of those very rare, and perhaps the rarest button in the auction. This is one of those buttons from the 18th century that there are so few examples that exist. This particular example is the actual button pictured on the front cover of the NBS bulletin in October of 2010 (image attached). Known as what is called a Topsy Turvy as the button depicts a mans head in En Grisaille painting and when turned upside down you view a different head. NOTE: You are bidding on one button not two. The design of the two heads is on the same button. A very rare opportunity to own one of these as there are only about 6 of these known to exist. In great condition!

Issued: DIVISION 1=PRE 1918 AND DIVISION 3 IS AFTER 1918
Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4". Large=1 1/4" and above, extra large=1 3/4" and above

Condition: These antique buttons may show age-related wear, and while notable condition issues are disclosed, buyers should expect vintage characteristics. We do not re-card buttons, so cannot guarantee the condition of backs or shanks on multi-button cards; additional condition reports are available upon request.
